New HEROSE test lab - unique in Europe

Due to the special conditions in cryogenic operations, the application standard  DIN EN 13648-1:2009 "Safety valves for cryogenic Operations" was issued for storage tanks for cryogenic liquid gases.

As a leading manufacturer of valves and safety valves for cryogenic operation, HEROSE has met the challenge and developed a test lab which fulfills these requirements.

Essentially, two tests must be carried out:

• Influence of rain water prior to cryogenic operation
• Influence of rain water during cryogenic operation

The background to these tests is that due to the low temperature safety valves can completely freeze up and may no longer be able to safely release the required mass flow.

The advantage is that now, users do not need to develop their own test procedures for qualifying their safety valves and are only able to use these procedures after they have ordered valves which they consider suitable, but rather they can immediately order evidence of suitability as per DIN EN 13648-1..
